The Experience

The Experience is an Interdenominational Gospel concert that features some of the best-known musical talents of our time. The Event, which debuted in December 2006 with over 70,000 persons in attendance rapidly gained momentum at its second outing with a quantum leap in attendance of well over 250,000 people! With last year's unprecedented crowd estimated at 500,000, The Experience has now become known as the largest musical concert in Africa.
The Experience has come to find a home at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos. The venue, constructed in 1972, in honour of the first Prime Minister of Nigeria is located in the heart of Lagos Island, Nigeria's commercial nerve centre. The TBS was designed to provide hire facilities for a number of gatherings. It has two pavilions on 4 floors enclosing an open arena of 36,000 squares meters. This location has hosted major functions like Independence Day celebrations. Following the unprecedented attendance last year, the organizers have opened up the other wing of the gallery seating. Also, additional bleacher style seating will be constructed on the side bordering the Cricket pitch (facing the former National Assembly building) to allow more participants in this year.

Uniquely the Event runs through the night starting at 7.00pm and running till 6am the following morning a colossal 11 hrs of uninterrupted prayer and live music! The Experience concert is scheduled to start at 8pm on Friday, the 3th of December and run till the early hours of Saturday morning.
At its inception, the Experience was simply an opportunity for Nigerians to put aside tribe, tongue, class, and creed; come together and lift one voice and worship God. Amazingly the event than has become much more than the organizers could ever have imagined. In four years it has become a global phenomenon, the world's largest gospel music concert and the largest musical event in Africa. The Experience is seen as a bridge of reconciliation and a beacon of light and hope to the much afflicted and often maligned continent of Africa. The Experience showcases the immense potential of the great continent, its people and what can be achieved when in spite of adversity; diversity joins hands to work together for the common good.

The Experience is Convened and hosted by Pastor Paul Adefarasin. He is widely regarded as a visionary leader and bridge-builder. His ability to transcend Race, Tribe and Creed with his unique approach to ministry has seen to the forging of many strategic relationships between the church and secular communities in Africa. He has a burning passion to see the rehabilitation of his generation, his nation and his continent.
Pastor Adefarasin holds a professional Bachelors degree in Architecture from the University of Miami. He practised as an Architect in Florida before his call into ministry. He is the founder, Senior Pastor and Prelate presiding over the HOUSE ON THE ROCK churches headquartered in Lagos.
